Nutrition 4 Kidney Care, LLC

Do dietitians assess and educate your dialysis patients?

If not, we can help.  I4KC is committed to providing "medical nutrition therapy" in dialysis facilities who reside in low to middle income countries and who are not being serviced by any dietitian. And, we provide these services free of charge to the patients.

How do we do it?  Our internship programs train students in their final phase of professional training. After they complete an intense education course on medical nutrition therapy for dialysis patients, we engage our highly qualified renal specialist to precept the interns while they service the local community.

Every assessment and every note gets reviewed by our dietitian team who is predominantly made of up of US trained renal dietitians who have worked in the field for over 5 years.  It's a win- win for everyone: the patients, the students and the dialysis facility.

In an article title Dietitians Play a Crucial and Expanding Role in Renal Nutrition and Medical Nutrition Therapy, published by the Journal of Renal Nutrition titled, it stated, "Nutrition is an important component in the prevention and treatment of chronic kidney disease (CKD). Nutrition interventions, when performed by a dietitian, have the potential to improve quality of life and outcomes, slow the progression of CKD, and mitigate common complications in patients undergoing kidney replacement therapy."
